In Game Update 1.2, any level 50 player will be able to queue up for Ranked Warzones by themselves or in a group of any size up to eight players. Performance will be tracked on every player who participates, as a rating that will be adjusted with every match won or lost (leaving counts as a loss and prevents you from re-queuing for several minutes) considering the ratings of all other players in the match. In other words, if the enemy team has an overall much higher rating than you and your team, your rating would only go down a small amount if you lost. Players will have a separate Solo and Group rating, meaning only the rating for which the player queued will be affected by each match.
The Ranked Warzone matchmaking system will match full groups of eight against one another, solo players against one another, players with similar ratings, etc. However, in order to ensure that players won’t have to wait too long for a match to occur, the system will become more ‘flexible’ over time. Solo and group queued players might be pulled together after a while if needed to launch a match. If a match cannot be made for extended periods of time, then Normal and Rank queued players (except those who queued as a group of five or more) might be pulled together to launch a ‘mixed’ match. Players will always be notified when a mixed match is made on the Warzone enter prompt. The rewards received in mixed matches will be based on how the player queued (type of commendations, rating adjustment if any, etc.).
We know that the flexible matchmaking and mixed matches are not ideal. They are only in until cross-server queuing is available and are the primary reason Ranked Warzones in Game Update 1.2 are Pre-Season, along with the opportunity to collect data and refine various systems in preparation for Season One.
Note, Rank queued players will never be prompted to backfill a match. So you’ll never be placed in a match that is about to end that could cause you to suffer a negative rating adjustment. Additionally, the Group rating is adjusted regardless of the size of group you queued up with and groups of five or more players are never called into mixed matches. So for complete control over the fate of your group rating, we suggest you queue up with your seven closest buddies that are good at PvP!
Warzone Rewards
Game Update 1.2 will include several changes to round out the Warzone reward system. They will affect both normal and Ranked Warzones.
Continuing on the changes introduced in 1.1.5, normal and Ranked Warzone Commendations can now be used to directly purchase gear. This is to help ensure commendations maintain their value throughout progression and thereby the inherent Warzone reward mechanics.
Ranked Warzone Commendations in tandem with the equivalent Battlemaster piece can be used to purchase pieces of the brand new set of PvP gear called War Hero. There are no other requirements for purchasing or equipping this gear.
Additionally, there is a set of Rated War Hero Gear and mounts which do have Highest Rating requirements to purchase and wear. Rated War Hero Gear has the same stats as regular War Hero Gear, except with a more prestigious appearance.
The final score for your team at the end of a match now always directly affects the rewards of all players on your team. So, high scoring games will reward more. Thereby better preserving reward meaning for continued good team performance - even if it looks like your team is losing. Experience reward is an exception to this. It will be a factor of time in the Warzone and participation.
Players who earn few to no medals will have their overall rewards reduced. For example, if a player goes ‘AFK’ for some reason and gains no medals, they will receive no rewards.
There are twelve new objective medals awarded for thresholds of objective offense and defense points which are earned for various objective accomplishments and participation (e.g. help defend a door in Voidstar, passing for score and scoring in Hutball, heal allies near an objective in Alderaan, etc.). These medals are intended to add to the objective oriented incentives as well as ensure players of all classes and skill levels can earn at least the minimum for no reward reductions provided that they participate in the objectives for the duration of the match.
There are several new medals awarded based on how quickly your team won the match. This combined with the medal reward cap introduced in 1.1.5 incentivizes winning matches as quickly as you can.
Level 50 Warzone quests now award a handful of commendations but the bulk will be earned by performance in Warzones. This ensures the focus remains on the direct Warzone reward mechanics.
Note that all rewards are still not given until the end of the Warzone.
AFK Vote Kick
Players will be able to vote to kick AFK players out of a Warzone. Any player can vote to kick a player through the group context menu. This will not initiate a vote prompt, but rather must be actively sought out by multiple players. Once a player has received several votes they will receive a prompt indicating that they’ll be kicked from the Warzone in a few seconds if they do not engage in combat or defend an objective. A player who is kicked from the Warzone in this manner will be returned to their original location before they queued, and will not be able to queue up again for several minutes.
PvP Stats
In addition to Ranked Warzones Solo and Group Ratings, players will now have several other PvP stats tracked including:
Player Kills
Medals Earned
MVP Votes Received
Total Warzone Wins
Solo Ranked
Wins
Losses
Highest Rating
Current Rating
Group Ranked
Wins
Losses
Highest Rating
Current Rating
Players with high Highest Solo and Group Ratings will be visible to other players on inspection and on the Who List. We intend on making the other stats visible to other players in a future update.
New Warzone: Novare Coast
Republic and Empire are locked in a brutal conflict by air and sea on the new planet, Denova. An Imperial drop ship has crash landed near the Republic coastal base and quickly established a fortification. The teams will need to turn the mortar cannons on the opponent’s fortification to bring it down. However, both fortifications are shielded. One mortar cannon is not enough to purge the shield. A team will have to control at least two to inflict any damage on the enemy fortification.
This is a majority three-point domination map with a tug-of-war style objective control. Control progress is saved when interrupted and then can be resumed by a player of the same team or worked back through by player of the opposing team. A training simulation themed variant of the Warzone supports same faction vs same faction matches.
Hopefully this gives all of you some insight into the changes we’re making in Game Update 1.2. We’d love to hear your feedback on the changes and hopefully we’ll see many of you on the Public Test Server. Don’t forget, the details given here may change slightly before Game Update 1.2 reaches the live servers, as we react to feedback from testing!

EA has released a new video showing what's coming up next in Star Wars: The Old Republic. While the first part of the Rise of the Rakghouls update has already been released, they wanted to show what's coming up next. This includes new warzones and PvP systems for the competitive players out there, as well as an updated legacy system, new guild features, user interface customization, and more. Check out Games Director James Ohlen discussing all the new and improved features in the video below.
Massively Multiplayer Online games are built around living, breathing worlds that are always evolving, and Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is no different. In our upcoming Game Update 1.2, we’ll be introducing a wide assortment of new features and content, while also introducing a number of improvements and changes to the in-game economy.
As we work to create a more player-driven economy, you can expect significant improvements to Crew Skills, and an extension of Crew Skill gameplay, such as item creation and research, into the Elder-Game content. You’ll also see new items brought into the game, including new schematics, Legacy items, a new tier of Player vs Player and Player vs Environment weapons and armor, and the ability to extract base-mods from purple items, as well as many other changes and improvements.
Weekly patch 1.1.5 (which is now on the Public Test Server) implements a number of changes in preparation of the upcoming Game Update, including the much requested removal of light side / dark side requirements on color crystals.
As it is expected when large scale changes are made to an economic system, enterprising players often find interesting opportunities to benefit from their knowledge about the changes beforehand (for example by studying test server patch notes).
With patch 1.1.5, we’ve decided to embrace these economic entrepreneurs and even go a step further:
By publishing a series of rumors and stories that are coming in across both the Imperial and Republic news wires, we are providing all of you with advance knowledge about some of the things to come in the near future…
Korrealis Corporation, a family-owned personal transportation company based out of Balmorra, has announced that, in response to a sharp increase in customer complaints, all production of the ‘Sovereign’, ‘Prince’, 'Baron' and 'Commander' speeder lines has been halted indefinitely. This announcement comes on the heels of the rumor that Tirsa Industrial Consortium has quietly ceased production of their less than successful 'Prime' model, which faced similar blowback.
Vehicle Vendors across the galaxy have been advised to clear out any remaining stock of these models, and many Vendors have begun offering steep discounts to entice potential customers. Collectors and investors may want to take note that the previous limitations governing the resale of some vehicles seem to have been lifted and are encouraged to use the opportunity to purchase these legacy vehicles while they are still available.
After several months of deliberation, the Republic Senate's Committee on Transportation and Public Safety has passed new regulations that, among other things, adjust the cost of speeder licenses. Once these regulations are signed by the Supreme Chancellor in the coming weeks, prices for Tier I and Tier II speeder licenses across the galaxy are expected to see a significant decline. To help offset the loss of revenue generated by these licenses, taxes on all models of Tier III speeders will be significantly increased once the new regulation takes effect.
Critics claim that the resolution will only add to the serious strain on the Republic’s finances, while others see this as a vain attempt to keep on pace with the Imperial Transportation Authority, which recently passed a similar law.
It’s been reported that Operatives of the Republic Strategic Intelligence Service have recovered several new variations of color crystal prototypes during a daring raid on a cutting edge Imperial Science Bureau outpost on Ilum. Among the items recovered are a number of rare, purple-hued color crystals, usually exclusive to Imperial-held worlds.
Republic scientists are confident that they will be able to reverse-engineer and potentially replicate the captured Imperial technology, including the color crystals, in a matter of weeks. While most of the prototypes are still being analyzed, it has been confirmed that the Imperial Science Bureau's "Project Expertise" at the Ilum outpost scored a major breakthrough in the crystal cutting process. While information on the new technology has been kept tightly guarded, we know that the process can create several variants of existing crystal colors which improve the crystal’s natural properties.
The seizure of this technology by the Strategic Intelligence Service has led to a race between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic to mass produce the crystals. Advance shipments of these crystals have already been dispatched to their respective fleets for field testing, and both sides say that once they have cleared any safety concerns, and have finalized a safe and efficient means of mass distribution, the crystals will become available.
In related news, a very limited number of pure white color crystals have been recovered by a Hutt-sponsored expedition into uncharted space. As of today, small stocks of these extremely rare and expensive crystals have started to appear in Vendor stocks at the primary Imperial and Republic transportation hubs. With no new shipments expected for several months, those wealthy enough to afford these crystals may find themselves in possession of a highly sought-after collectable.
Me and Hank got an invite to a very good Raid this morning (3am gmt). 8 man raid led by Fereg the guild master of 'The Back Peddlers'. I got 4 x Biometric Crystal Alloy, a lvl 52 purple gun called 'Fast Credits', a lvl 51 purple Helmet called Energized combat helmet, a 59 endurance relic, and a lvl 50 purple medium armor schematic! Hank got Tionese Eliminators Belt and Tionese Eliminators bracers!
Other drops in the offing were a 110% speeder (looks like a box car) tons of other armor and schematics, implants and relics. The raid lasted about 3 hours, and we wiped about 5 times on the last boss, until everyone knew what they were doing, then it was easy! BUT the guys we did the raid with had ALOT of gear already, and me and hank were the worst PVE equipped people there hehe. And this was on EASY MODE! god only knows how hard hard mode is! To put things in perspective, one of the guys was lvl 28 legacy!
Any way, now that me and hank know how to do the raid, once people have alot of gear; Columni gear from hard modes; we will attempt to do this instance as a guild.
Edit: On a side Note, we did this again a week later, no wipes. So we did Hardmode, got to the end boss, and someone lost their internet for 10 hours so we didnt complete it. It wasnt that much harder on Hard mode lol.
Edit 2: 14/02/2012 - 3am GMT - went back and killed the last boss. Took us 4 hours to perfect it. Dropped a ton of gear, I got a medium schematic, and a rare crafting matt which I am using to make Hank some Bracers that are nearly as good as Rakata - but not Bind on Pickup!
Edit 3: 03/03/2012 - Start Eternity vault Hard mode at 3am. Finished at 4am. Now officially on farm status. Bring on the next Raid instance.
SWTOR News: Flashpoints Hard Mode Day - Check Guild Event Link
Hi Guys, Well going to start using the Guild Events Calender on a regular basis to post events. Please check out days and timings and post on the forums whether you are available. It will be an all day event, and maybe we get one group, maybe 2. I would imagine that people will drop out and others join in for other Hard Modes. Will be starting off with the easiest (Black Talon) and progressing through out the day. You have to be in it to win it :)

Greetings everyone!
Regarding the choice of server there has been some discussions on the forum lately about what server we will play on.
The decision has been made to play on The Crucible Pits.
Please create your characters there.
We're looking forward to seeing you all ingame all ingame :)
Hey everyone, good morning and welcome to the first day of Early Game Access for Star Wars: The Old Republic!
We're granting access based solely on when people's pre-orders were redeemed, and we're going to be granting it in 'waves' - large batches of emails and game entitlements that will go out over the course of today (and tomorrow, and the next day, and so on).
So far today, we have sent out two 'waves' of invites; we will be sending more later on, but I cannot be specific on timing. (Why? Because as we invite each wave, we monitor to see how servers are performing and so on. If everything is good, we'll send a 'wave' earlier; we in fact sent 'wave 2' ahead of schedule. So cross your fingers.)
Now, to the question you all have: when will you be invited? Well, I cannot be specific to individuals or even to dates, because again, we have to remain flexible. That said, I can talk a little about the pattern of pre-orders.
At the very beginning of pre-orders, which started on July 21st, we had a massive influx of pre-orders. A huge spike. After that, things settled down. As a result, today especially, you're going to see a fairly narrow band of dates from those admitted to Early Game Access. From tomorrow, it'll spread out to a wider date range.
That's about as specific as we're going to get right now. However, as we send more waves I'll update this thread/post with more information. Thanks for your patience - we know it's been a long road, but you'll be playing before too long.
Assigned to Server Tomb of Freedon Nadd
Thank you for your participation in the Pre-Launch Guild Program. At this time, guilds can no longer be created or modified on the website.
If your guild qualified for deployment, it has already been imported into the game. Server assignments can be found by visiting your guild's homepage. If your guild did not meet the deployment requirements, your guild was not imported into the game. Guilds can be created in-game at the Imperial and Republic fleets.
All web support for guilds will be removed by 01.03.12, and we encourage you to save any important data you wish to keep before that time.
Early Game Access* for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is only
a few days away!
Starting December 13, 2011, The Old Republic will begin emailing
invitations to start your Early Game Access. Invitations will be sent
throughout the Early Game Access period offering rolling access to the
game in the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code, so be sure
to check your email inbox!
To ensure that players can get into the game as quickly
as possible when their Early Game Access begins, we are now allowing
everyone who has redeemed a Pre-Order Code at our Code Redemption Center to pre-load the game to their computer.
In order to download the game client before Early Game Access begins,
you need have already logged into your account and redeemed your
Pre-Order Code. Once you have done this, you can download the game
client by clicking on “My Account”
in the upper-right of the window and then click “Pre-Order.” On your
Pre-Order page, click the large button that says “Download Game Client”
to begin download of the game!
If you participated in our recent Beta Testing Weekend between
November 25th and 28th and still have the game client installed, you
will be able to patch this client instead of re-installing by simply
launching your client, logging in and allowing the download to complete.
If you did not participate in the November 25th – 28th Beta Weekend,
first uninstall the Game Testing Client and then re-install to ensure
your game client will function correctly during Early Game Access.
Learn more about how to get ready for Early Game Access!
If you haven’t pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic yet, you still have time. Visit our Pre-Order Page, secure your copy of the game and redeem your Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center to pre-load the client and qualify for Early Game Access.
If you have any issues installing or patching the game client for The Old Republic, check visit the Customer Service Support section for information and assistance.
*Customers who redeem their Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center prior to launch will be able to pre-load the Star Wars:
The Old Republic Game Client before the official Game launch.
Pre-loading the Game does not grant you access to the Game. Pre-Ordering
the Game only allows you access to the Early Game Access period and
your Color Crystal. Early Game Access may be up to 7 days. The length
of your Early Game Access depends on the date and order in which you
redeemed your Pre-Order Code. In order to continue playing the Game
after the Early Game Access period, you must redeem your official Game
Product Registration Code at the Code Redemption Center."
Lee writes "In preparation for the official release of Star Wars: The Old Republic, we wanted to make sure that everyone has the correct game client installed on their machine.
If you participated in our Game Testing Program before November 25th,
we recommend that you uninstall the game testing client (refer to
instructions below) and then download and install the launch game
client. We’ll update this post with more instructions when they’re
available. You will need 27GB of free space to install the launch game
client. The actual size of the game client is approximately 19GB
(without additional languages installed).
If you have played in our game testing program at any point from November 25th onwards, you will not need to re-install the game client, as you should already have the launch version installed.
To verify that you have the launch version installed, you can check for
the "assets_swtor_main" version file in the following location on your
computer: Program Files (x86)EABioWareStar Wars – The Old Republic
(assuming default installation). If you have that file present, you do
not need to reinstall the game client.
With that said, some users may notice that their game client folder is
much larger than 27 GB on their system. This may be due to having
redundant files from previous versions of the client. If you need to
clear up space, we recommend completely uninstalling the client and
downloading and installing the launch game client. Again, we’ll update
this post with more instructions when they’re available.

This build has our first iteration of the Legacy System! At its core the Legacy system is about allowing players to create a family tree of characters. Family is pretty important to the Star Wars universe, with the Skywalker family having one of the most interesting dynamics in movie history. This version is just the foundational components that we will use to build upon in the future. Here are the features of this iteration:
Once your character has completed their Chapter 1 storyline, they will be able to choose a Legacy Last Name. This Legacy Last Name must be unique and is shared across all characters on that server - so choose carefully!
Once you have unlocked your Legacy, any and all characters on that server will now contribute to that player's Legacy Experience Points. Much like normal experience points, when you reach certain Legacy thresholds, you will increase your Legacy Level.
We already have plans for how we will expand the functionality of the Legacy System in one of our major post-ship patches. This will include being able to shape your Legacy's family tree, and give you a reward for all those Legacy Levels.
We look forward to reading your feedback on the Legacy System!
We're one step closer to the official launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
The Pre-Launch Guild Program* will end on 12/2/11 at 11:59 p.m.
CST so that guilds can be assigned to servers for Early Game Access.†
This is your last chance to:
• Make any changes to your guild
• Ensure your guild meets requirements for deployment into the game††
• Designate your guild's Allies and Adversaries
• Review pending guild application requests
Prior to Early Game Access, you will be notified by email to check the website for your guild's deployment status. For more information, please read the Guilds FAQ or contact Customer Service at www.swtor.com/support.
The guild is all set for deployment. However there are still a few slackers who have not dragged their ass over to the SDA guild page at www.swtor.com
So what does this mean? It means that the guild we deploy as a unit, but you will just deploy. Possibly not on the same server. So this is your last chance to apply to the guild and deploy with us. Be there or be a fruit salad.
Please note that SWTOR.com will be undergoing maintenance from 6:00 PM CST on Monday, 11/21 until 6:00 AM CST on Tuesday, 11/22.
During that time, you will not be able to visit the Game Tester Portal to accept your invitation. Please visit the website before or after this window to accept your invitation, and thank you for your understanding!
You must respond to be able to participate in this test. To accept or decline this invitation, simply visit the Testing Details Page.
Please remember, your participation in the Game Testing Program is subject to the Game Testing Agreement.
If you have any trouble accessing the Game Testing Portal, please contact the Star Wars™: The Old Republic Team™ for assistance.
Lee writes "When we started our Beta Testing Weekends, we told you that each
weekend would include more testers than the last. We’re excited to
announce that later this month we will be conducting our largest Beta
Testing Weekend yet, specifically designed to help us stress test our
servers in preparation for the launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
How can you take part in this coming Beta Test Weekend? Well, for starters we are happy to announce that anyone
who has signed up for our Game Testing Program prior to today, November
11th, will get invited! Invites will be sent in the coming weeks.
For people who haven’t signed up for our Game Testing Program, you
can also get into the Beta Stress Test Weekend through a series of
promotions."
Big Welcome goes to David our newest recruit and family member. He is son of Balefire and as such we can expect great things from him; no doubt he will be a chip off the old block of Tonies :D You are more likely to get to know him on facebook and his threads in the Search and Destroy Agency facebook group threads I think. Welcome young man!
Imperial Agents look to be the sneaky stealthers we have come to expect from the MMO Genre. Through stealth, cunning, guile and their discretionary use of violence, the Imperial Agent is tasked with performing the most sensitive and secretive assignments for the Sith Empire.
One of the benefits to pre-ordering Star Wars™: The Old
Republic™ is that you will gain Early Game Access before launch on
December 20th. This is a chance to start your epic Star Wars saga early, as you’ll be able to create and play your character ahead of the official live game launch.
Many of you have been wondering how long Early Game Access will last,
and we are now happy to announce that depending on when you redeem your
Pre-Order Code, you will gain Early Game Access up to five days before
the official game launch date.
Early Game Access is staggered over five days to ensure a quality
experience for players at launch. Staggering access aids server
stability and a gradual increase in player population through the game.
Early Game Access will be granted according to when your Pre-Order Code
is redeemed at the Code Redemption Center. If you have not yet pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic, there’s still time! Visit our Pre-Order page for more information and watch the Collector’s Edition Unboxing video for a peek inside this highly coveted edition of the game."
I have to say this is the best video yet! The bounty Hunter vs the Jedi Warrior battle looks to be a classic, and if what the developers are telling is us true, we are led to believe the fight is going to be a close run thing. I think what it will be down to will be who can kite the best, and who can close the distance the best.
I have emailed you all your Calendar Usernames and Passwords - so in case you dont check your Facebook or SDA email address very often - give it a check so you can log in and see what events are planned.
have now got access to their own Calendar which they can post challenges to SDA on, regarding Huttball events, Warzone challenges, PvP duels etc.. You can view their Calendar here:
I would suggest joining in the SDI vs SDA fun both on our forums and over at theirs (once they allow your application form. I suggest joining as SDA_Yourusername)

SDA Guild: Final Founding Member - Matt has returned!
After many months Hank finally tracked down our final founding member of the guild... Matt! Exciting times! Hank, Paul, Matt and I founded the guild, way back when we were waiting for Dragon Empires to enter beta, and we were playing Shadowbane.
Matt actually found us a great spot for a city on a desert island and together we built the city from the ground up, and many of the great members of SDA are the ones who flocked to our banner all those years ago. Matt was responsible for forming our Siege guild - The Euclids - and very effective they were too!
Welcome back mate! Look forward to chatting on Teamspeak and the forums really soon. Let us know if you will be playing SWTOR and have pre ordered yet :D
Heya guys and girls. Well, I have just deleted 4500+ website accounts (inactives, spammers etc...) which err took me a lil while >< My eyeballs feel like they have been rolled in sand paper now (sigh).
Unfortunately there was one incorrect delete (oops) so if Lowlife could please email me on slaine@sdaguild.com I will email him back his log in and pw details. Sorry man.
Welcome to the Headquarters of the Search and Destroy Agency. We are veteran bounty hunters, who banded together a decade ago, and have executed operations across many worlds since. We will soon be operating in a Galaxy near you when 'The Old Republic' lowers its forcefield on the 22nd of December and we gain entry into uncharted territories.
SDA have fought alongside each other, on many different battlefields over the years. We have controlled vast armies at our finger tips, sending hundreds into battle in the lands of Azeroth. Later we would field elite platoons, smaller and faster to mobilize; for operations in the world of Ganereth.
The call to arms to siege 'The Old Republic' was transmitted to all founding members in December 2010, and all of the original leaders, along with our most loyal, toughest and grittiest agents have signed up for action; to once more bear arms under the banner of the Agency. Our core business will be to Search and Destroy - We are Bounty Hunters!
If you have just rolled in on the last transport ship, and are having trouble gaining entry to the Agency HQ; send a short transmission via this portal and I will transmit you the necessary access codes. Regards, Marksman/Slaine.
